Tools: Screwdriver set, Adjustable wrench, Ladder, Safety glasses, Drill (optional, for pilot holes)
Safely lower the garage door. Locate the detached opener unit and its mounting bracket. Re-align the opener unit with the bracket and secure it using the existing fasteners or new ones if needed. Ensure the bracket is firmly attached to the ceiling joists. Re-engage the opener and test its function.
Assistance may be helpful for holding the opener unit steady while re-securing it to the bracket, especially if working alone on a ladder.
A qualified garage door technician or handyman is recommended if the ceiling structure is damaged, or if you are uncomfortable working at height or with the opener mechanism. This price range includes a callout fee and labour for a simple re-attachment.
