AirTool Community Partner Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: June 2026

1. About the Community Partner Program

The AirTool Community Partner Program allows approved individuals to earn recurring commissions by introducing new tool owners, helpers, professionals, and local hubs to the AirTool platform. This program is designed to support community growth across New Zealand.

2. Eligibility

To become a Community Partner you must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Be a resident of New Zealand
  • Have an active AirTool account in good standing
  • Have at least one tool listed on the platform, or have completed at least one booking
  • Be approved by AirTool administration

AirTool reserves the right to decline any application without providing a reason.

3. How Commissions Work

The Community Partner Program rewards growing the AirTool supply side — the tool owners, helpers, and professionals who make rentals and services possible. You earn commission when someone you refer lists tools or offers services on the platform and completes transactions. No commission is earned for referring renters or buyers.

3.1 Commission Structure

Commission is calculated as a percentage of the platform fee generated by your referred supplier's completed transactions. Year tiers count from the referred member's first completed transaction date.

PeriodCommission RateBased On
Year 1 (months 1–12)50%of platform fee on each transaction
Year 2 (months 13–24)25%of platform fee on each transaction
Year 3 onwards0%See top performer bonus below

3.2 Top Performer Bonus

Each calendar year, the top 10% of active Community Partners by referral performance will receive a bonus 25% commission rate. This bonus applies from Year 3 onwards, giving top performers an ongoing 25% commission indefinitely.

3.3 Qualifying Transactions

Commissions ARE earned when your referred supplier completes:

  • Tool rental bookings (peer-to-peer or through a Hub)
  • Service bookings as a helper or professional

Commissions are NOT earned on:

  • Referrals of renters or buyers (the demand side) — only suppliers generate commission
  • Cancelled or disputed transactions
  • Transactions where the referred user's account has been suspended
  • Platform subscription fees (if introduced in future)

Hub note:If your referred tool owner hands their tools to a Hub for management, you still earn commission on transactions generated by that owner's tools — the Hub arrangement does not affect your referral earnings.

3.4 Attribution & Payout

A referral is attributed to you when a new user registers via your unique referral link (airtool.nz/join?ref=your-id). Attribution is based on first click. Commissions accrue automatically when a qualifying transaction is marked completed and are paid out manually by AirTool — there is no automated bank transfer.

4. Payment

  • Commissions are calculated monthly
  • Minimum payout threshold: NZ$50
  • Payment by direct bank transfer to your registered NZ bank account
  • You are responsible for providing accurate bank account details
  • AirTool will issue a payment summary for your records
